Sorry to Everyone

I am so sorry that I haven't been posting, or managing to keep up with comments that people have been leaving. I am fine, real life has just been getting in the way, and I just can't keep up with everything, so a break was in order, but I should have put something up here - it just kind of got away from me.

Christmas was wonderful, I was together with my family in Wales, and Granny came to stay, which was just lovely, it was so nice to get some time with her, and I was really glad that she wasn't on her own the first Christmas after Grampa died. Sheena was caring for me for 5 weeks over the whole period, so everything went so smoothly, and it was great to be with her - I remember how hard it is to be away from your family at Christmas from when I was living in Grand Cayman (I really enjoyed it but there were times when you would get pangs of homesickness).

Healthwise, I have been pottering along, and that basically means that nothing major has happened, but that things aren't great either. My pain levels seem to have been up which means more painkillers, and when you take them more often, they don't work as well which is just one of those things, but all under control. I also don't do as well in the cold, so it has been lots of hot water bottles and blankets. Cold for us is nothing like what some of you get as we rarely see snow, so when we do it is quite exciting!!

Happy new year Mima. Don't worry about not posting - it gets like that at this time of the year for a lot of people.

Sorry to hear you are in more pain - long term pain is so tiring. Hopefully 2009 will be a good year for you. X

Hooray! A post from you!

You've been in my thoughts so much lately and I'm so glad you've written!

So lovely that Gran was with you for Christmas. How special!

I'm glad you're doing good. I know the thing about more painkillers and all the stuff that goes with it. Grrrrrr!

Thinking of you dear Mima! Be as well as you can be.

There is no need to apologise for not posting. It happens to us all. Glad you had a good Christmas. So you used to live in Grand Cayman. I am sure that there is a post in that if you want.

I think that the damp cold, that we get here, can feel colder than the dry cold that colder countries experience.

Good to have you back! Glad you had a good Christmas and I hope that you might get some days free of pain. Spring is on its way........ (hopefully)

Dearest Most Darling Mima - no need ever for you to apologise.

I think your lovely Zena needs to double up on feline hotwater bottle duties. Oh, my goodness, cold doesn't help.

Through your wonderful self I have met dear special Elizabeth Ann, who is now in Mississippi.

But bestest of all for me right now - I have met you. When you're feeling okay pop over to my blog. I don't look like the average bod with Crohn's disease. I first did the extreme Crohn's weight loss back in 1993, Now at the other end of the spectrum.

I would so love to be over there cooking for you. One day.....one day.

Sending super care and loving huggles, Michelle. (Zebbycat is sound asleep on our shared queen sized bed)

Hi Mima, Glad to hear your doing ok. We have a simular climate here in Seattle. The snow is fun when it doesn't linger. I (and I'm sure you as well) am waiting patiently for spring and the garden to come back to life. Too bad the calendar doesn't have beter news to report.

Oh, what a delight to find a post from you! It's just that I think of you and worry a bit when there's alot of time between posts...but I soooo understand when it's time to take a break, so DON'T apologize! Watch your energy level~~mom-talk, even tho I'm not THAT much older!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Glad you had holiday with your family and that Gram wasn't alone.

So nice to read Mickle's post about meeting me 'cause I got to meet funny, delightful Mickle from NZ by knowing you Mima. Cool how things happen in cyberspace. :)

Glad you've not had any major relapses...day-by-day is enough sometimes *grin*

It's been cold for us here too and we bought a heating blanket for the bed! Comfy. Little Doggie wears a sweater sometimes and doesn't like to walk on frosty grass!

Take care. Cyber-hug and spoon to you, my friend.

Dear Mima,

Mickle again - are the birds enjoying your birdbath? I have to keep cleaning mine out and topping it up. Cleaning because of their generous "deposits", and filling up because after the birdies own energetic efforts, the warmth and wind finish off emptying it.

The US Mid West, and Aussie States of Victoria and South Australia are experiencing extreme yet opposite temperature challenges.

Your first post for 2009 happened on my birthday!

Keep warm, comfy and cosy, Mickle and sound asleep Zebbycat (Oh to fall asleep as fast as he does)

gentle caring huggles and cuddles, from us xxx

My brain working faster than it can coordinate with digits.

Meant by references to extreme temperatures, that special care to those there, and, my goodness, we all things to bear, and things to be thankful for.

Sincere care and love to you, Dear Mima, and your Zena. And also to your careers that are super amazing. Thank you for letting us know about them.

Sit back, relax, and think of seeds for your spring plantings.

My self-seeded flat leaf parsley is now showing up - all over the place.

Nighty night from here, Michelle and Zebbycat xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Mima, it's so nice to be reading a post from you. I'm glad you had the time with your Granny. You're right--it would have been so hard for her not to have family around during Christmastime.

Here's hoping you will have the excitement of a little snow, which you can observe from your window, all cozied up. That's the way I like to watch the snow, from an indoor perspective. :-D

Hi there Mima. I was without internet for a bit and am glad to be up and running again. It is so good to sit and visit. So glad to hear that you have been doing well as far as Christmas went and really glad that you and your family were able to all be together with your grandma.

The cold.....we have had more snow this year and it is so unusual. But then today is so different. It is said to be going no 60 degrees today. So strange. Even though you don't getmuch snow, it is probably wet there right? That always makes the cold more cold. We notice that alot here in the NW. The wet seems to make the colder temps stick to your bones down deep.

I pray you have a blessed and wonderful day my friend.

Glad to hear you are ok but sorry that the pain levels are up Mima. Wish I could send you some of our sunny days, although I'm finding these 40 degree heat waves to be a real drag. I know it has been crazy over your way with snowstorms and the like. Sending warm hugs.xxxx

Mima; I'm so happy to see your post. But sorry to see your pain levels are up. I'm no stranger to pain pills or muscle spasm relievers so know how using more makes them work less. Thinking about you.

Thank you for leaving your comment. I was really worried about you. I understand about the blogging. It is a lot of work and yes - life does get in the way.

I'm glad you enjoyed a browse around New Orleans with me. I know I've discovered parts of the world virtually that I will never see in person - wonderful this internet stuff isn't it?

Please remember - when things are really tough - there are a lot of us out here who think of you often. :0)

My dear Mima - I am thinking of you. Starting up with the worrying again about you - typical me....

If you have the time and the energy - drop a small line or two.

If not - send me some special Mima thoughts and I'll know you are okay.

Hope you are super well dear Mima.

aims said...

Thank you for taking the effort to let me know you are okay.

I understand totally the *slow slide* thing - but yes - the day to day is all that matters.

I'm so glad you have a good carer for now. That is wonderful news.

Phew! I can stop worrying again!

Hugs from way over here!
